We think about future.

There are 2 parts of the sentence

If part (conditional)
Main part (will part)

If the weather is good, we will go hiking.

IF part

In if part we think about the future, but say -1 step.

I think: the weather will be good.

I say: If the weather is good…

“If” is not the only one word that is used in 1^st conditional. Other words:

When, as soon as, al long as, once, after, before, until, unless, in case. But we will talk about it later. Today we practice sentences with the word “if”.

Comma:

If part , main part.

Main part NO COMMA if part.

Main part:

I am sure – something WILL (not) happen.

I am not very sure – something MIGHT (not) happen

MAY (not) happen

COULD happen

So if you continue, you will definitely succeed.
